The former farm residence of the St. Gerlach country estate is now a distinctive and charming hotel.

The history of the St. Gerlach dates back to the 12th century. Since 1997, the Château functions as a hotel and restaurant and offers guests warm hospitality in a historical setting.

Throughout the hotel, characteristic furniture, beautiful antiques, Venetian hand-woven fabrics and multi-printed silks give the interiors an inspiring and rich ambience.

Six stylishly furnished rooms offer a marvellous setting for festive and business gatherings with a capacity of 5 to 300 guests. The hotel also has a wonderful lounge with an open fireplace, a cosy bar and a multifunctional conference room.

Food & beverage

Breakfast

Breakfast is served from 07:00 till 10:00 on Monday to Friday and from 08:00 till 10:30 on Saturdays and Sundays. The extensive breakfast facilities in our garden pavilion ensure that you can enjoy your morning meal, while admiring the authentic herb garden and the pastoral landscape.

Restaurant Château St. Gerlach

The restaurant is open from 18:30 till 21:00. Three reception rooms in the former living quarters of the aristocratic family now feature a top-quality, à la carte restaurant. Each space is furnished in its own distinctive manner and in full harmony with the original painted walls and ceilings.

The comprehensive menu is oriented towards French cuisine – and our renowned wines perfectly complement the dishes. On sunny days, the splendid patio is also a great place to dine out.

Bistrot de Liège

The bistro is open from 12:00 till 20:30. Baron de Selys de Fanson was the Château St. Gerlach’s last resident. His kitchen, dining room and reception room have now been transformed into the cosy Bistrot de Liège.

The authentic paving stones, the antique stove and an original Liège-style pantry in the open kitchen are responsible for much of the Bistrot’s unique ambience. In this informal place you can enjoy a week menu, light dishes from the region or simply have a cup of coffee.

The Château St. Gerlach is located in the valley of the Geul River, less than 10 km away from the city centre of Maastricht. This city is a byword for exuberant living with its cheerful outdoor cafés, exclusive shopping streets and historic buildings and monuments from around 1590.

Explore the wonderful Limburg countryside with its many hills and visit the wildlife reserve Ingendael.

Great location. Hotel is situated on a beautiful park with direct access to the Geuldal. The senior apartment was large enough for us and our 4 kids. Staff was friendly, we felt very welcome with our 4 children. We are looking forward to going back.

Sometimes long waiting in the bistrot.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Our room/apartment was very spacious and the hotel thought of nearly everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The bathroom was fabulous.

The only minor point was thre were no coffee satchets or tea bags. hat would have been nice.

Room in the old chateau was excellent - beams and old furniture, creaky staircases etc. Walks in the nearby forest were good. Train to Maastricht only ten minutes walk away and the free shuttle was great.

Very dissapointed with the Bistro - sent our main course back as it was served lukewarm only to get the same plate back still lukewarm ..... they supposedly put the dover sole back in the pan to heat through again the waiter said. We declined to pay for the main course .....

The facilities are very good. We found that the breakfast could have been better. For this type you expect more fresh selection e.g. jus, eggs etc

Large junior apartment suite was well furnished, including well equipped kitchenette. Grounds were nicely done and provided a very peaceful setting.

"King bed" was really 2 twin beds stuck together.

Zeer schone, ruime kamer. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.

Onduidelijkheid over de betaling van de kamer; ik dacht dat ik via internet al betaald had voor het verblijf, maar bleek bij aankomst het gehele bedrag nog te moeten voldoen. Het personeel is soms wat overvriendelijk, waardoor het niet gemeend overkomt.

L'absence de bruit. Peut dormir fenêtre ouverte.

Prix du petit déjeuner: 25 eur!!! Et sans prévenir. Prix normal des chambres élevé. (Payé prix promo dans mon cas)

La chambre, l upgrade, la deco

Television irregardable du lit, pas de precision du fait que la piscine est ds un lieu eloigné et separé de l hotel, il neigait! Massage nul et trop d attente au check out, pas assez de personel, mauvaise recomendation de restaurant ceux de l hotel trop cher pour la qualité de la bouffe et le bar pas au niveau du prix de l hotel.

Wij hebben ons verblijf als zéér aangenaam ervaren : verzorgde kamer met mooi uitzicht, resto op niveau, vriendelijk personeel, rust in het hotel en omgeving, prachtige ligging,... en last but not least, een zeer uitgebreid en verzorgd ontbijtbuffet... Kwalitatief hoogstaand hotel.
