Hotel De Hoofdige Boer (Stubborn Farmer) situated in the rural countryside of the Netherlands (Eastern part) welcomes hotelguests for 3 generations in the Holtslag family. It is an independent "modern" hotel with very unique surroundings. You will find an atmosphere of which you had thought it did not exist anymore. Nice rooms, friendly staff and we are proud of our kitchen as well as all the other facts that will make your stay in our hotel memorable. We are looking forward to welcome you!

This is a completely non smoking hotel except in the cafe!

All older children or adults are charged EUR 28.00 per night and person for extra beds.

Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

The menu at De Hoofdige Boer varies per season and, with his crew, the chef manages time after time to come up with an innovative menu of appetising dishes. The pleasant ambiance and the friendly hosts are sure to make your evening a pleasant one.
If the weather allows it, you can dine undisturbed on our splendid garden terrace. The hotel terrace faces south and enjoys a view of the Berkel valley. On the other side of the building there is a 19th century tea garden, which is a household word for many hikers and cyclists from the neighbourhood. The tea garden offers an extra dimension to intervals along one of the many magnificent routes of the surroundings.

Personal attention of the staff during breakfast, dinner etc., also on the terrace and in the (lovely) garden. Papers, magazines and books about local history in the lounge. Ambiance: original artproducts (no reproductions) in room and corridors, fresh flowers everywhere, plants in good condition. Our room was one of the finest we ever had on our many trips in our country and abroad.

The tower bell of the nearby church had a nice sound but was very loud and woke one of us up every half hour during the night. Maybe the staff should recommend guests to use earplugs (at checking in).

Good and pleasant staff, good breakfasts and very good dinner, the village of Almen and other places around. Moreover the shed to park our bikes, which is not in every hotel available.

Fraai rustig dorp en rustige setting. Keurige, maar wel gedateerde kamer, goede bedden. Net ontbijt

Als geheel toch wel wat gedateerd, maar misschien is dat ook wel de charme.

Bekend hotel, maar wel gehorig, waterleiding geruis, douche, wc, e.d. slechte televisie ontvangst (Nederland-IJsland voetbal) na melding geen actie, zelf opnieuw afgesteld wel iets beter maar bleef onder de maat. Ontbijt is voldoende, maar niet meer dan dat. Bedden waren goed, dus wel lekker geslapen en dat is belangrijk

Zo'n stom douche gordijn, geen douchebak waardoor de hele vloer van de badkamer nat wordt. Daarna kun je niet op blote voeten of sokken de badkamer in.

Das hübsche Äußere des Hotels, die dörfliche Atmosphäre.

Frühstück eher mittelmäßig. Unser Zimmer viel zu klein - gibt sicher bessere -, Einteilung in 2-Klassen-System beim Essen (Tellergericht nur im Eingangsbereich ohne Tischdecke usw.)

De persoonlijke aandacht en verzorging. Het ontbijtbuffet was rijkelijk en met zorg bereid.

Last van veel muggen in de kamer. 's-avonds wordt in het restaurant te vroeg ingedekt voor de volgende morgen. is ongezellig!

Netjes, rustige omgeving, aardige bediening

Dat de ontbijtboel al klaar gezet werd (om 20.30 uur), terwijl wij een ook andere hotelgasten nog aan het dineren waren. Verder konden we geen capuccino meer krijgen om een uur of 9 's avonds, omdat het apparaat al was schoongemaakt!

Goede parkeer mogelijkheid en mooi Hotel met leuk terras aan de overzijde

Diner- en ontbijttafel worden op naam toegewezen en was in ons geval veel te klein, geen haardroger op de kamer.
